IRS Form 8283 is used to report specific information about noncash charitable contributions when the total amount of all noncash contributions during the tax year exceeds $500. Noncash contributions can include securities, property, vehicles, collectibles or art. This noncash contributions made to a qualifying charitable organization, can be deducted and this deductions for noncash contributions are reported as itemized deductions. But Before claiming any tax deduction, you should consult with your tax advisor. Do not use Form 8283 to report out-of-pocket expenses for volunteer work or amounts you gave by check or credit card.
